Paper production= 0.9% of Spain's Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions

Trees are able to clean
our air

Our factories consume energy, there is no denying that. However, more than 41% comes from biomass and more than 58% from clean energies such as natural gas. In addition, we are also leaders in terms of cogeneration facilities. In other words, by consuming gas, heat is generated for self-consumption and electricity (71% of the needs of paper mills in the Basque Autonomous Community). This is also accomplished in a more efficient and cleaner manner than other electricity generators. We thus make maximum use of energy and avoid greenhouse gas emissions.

According to the Spanish National Statistics Institute (INE for its acronym in Spanish), in 2019, paper production accounted for 0.9% of all greenhouse gas emissions in Spain.

Also, don’t forget that paper raw material, trees, are able to clean our air as they trap CO2. Paper captures CO2 that is produced by other human activities!
